Upper West Side interior design and architecture: a penthouse reimagined as a New York gathering place for a family spread across the city. The clients, western Canadians with homes from Austin to Toronto, wanted a mecca for their three grown children and grandchildren, all in and around NYC.

It was a three-year, full gut renovation, stripped back to the brick outer walls, turning an awkwardly spaced two-bedroom pied-à-terre into a true four-bedroom home with a gourmet chef’s kitchen, a butler’s pantry, and a wine bar. Views run from the Hudson to Central Park. The client wanted a contemporary take on Art Deco, which we built through custom finishes throughout: a regal palette of creams and blues, touches of brass and gold, gold pocket doors, and brass frames on the artwork.
